Perfect guild guide!

Want your guild to be the best? Have many members? Be active? Then follow this guide!

What a successful guild needs is:
That's it! But it's not that simple. Here are the things you need to do after you create a guild:
1. Name: Pick a name for your guild!
2. Pick a theme for your guild: Will it be neo-related? Or maybe a Harry Potter addicts guild? Or a Miley Cyrus fan club? Choose whatever you want.
3. A layout for the guild. If you don't know how to make one, take a premade one from Neo-Faerie Wings, Sunshine Neo, Spork-Graphics and SunnyNeo. This sites have great guild layouts, so if you're not the best in graphics or CSS, just take a premade one. After all, people judge a guild by its looks also.
Once you did all of these, you need to decide on activities for your guild. Even if you don't have members, when people see your guild, they want to see that you update the guild, and that there are activities, or else people won't like the guild. Think of activities for your guild, and not just the known one like: 1np auctions, free stuff, etc.
Very important: always follow the rules! This means: No free stuff, newbie packs, giveaways, prizes, no paying neopoints for people to join your guild, no offering people any kind of items/neopoints.
Now that you have done all of this, make an ad for your guild. Write the activities in the guild, the name of the guild, address of the guild, and whatever you want to add. Then go to the guilds board, and make a board about your guild, and put the ad on the board. Make sure you put the ad whenever you advertise the guild. Try advertising in the 'guildless' topics, rating guilds topics, and at most of the topics in the guild board. But you have to practice a bit. The guild board is very fast so you need to hurry. Also try advertising in webs, like this web, and other webs who offer advertising. Many webs offer advertising so it shouldn't be much of a problem.
Upgrading your guild:
Have a nice guild with members, but feel like you want more? Well, that's possible! Many guilds have websites. Here are the ways for your guild to have a web:
1. A few petpages-you need people to help you with this. The pages are petpages and that's it.
2. A real web-you can always make a web for your guild with Freewebs, FreeHostia, and more.
A newspaper-a newspaper is another great way to keep your guild members updated. You can put it in a petpage, or in a web.
Tips:
I interviewed 2 people I know-my guild's leader and a friend of mine. Here are the interviews:
This is the interview with my guild leader:
Question: What is the secret of your success?
Answer: make sure you come on everyday or tell everybody you aren't going to be on that day...when scheduling a month, dont tell everybody when everything is going to happen, keep them active and updated, have games and things for them to show off...don't promise prizes of any sort because you will get in trouble with TNT...

Question: What do you suggest for users who want to start a guild?
Answer: don't start one unless you have really good ideas besides the plain old 1np auction, trades, pharmacy, etc.
What we learn from this interview:
Like I said before, be creative, have activities in your guild, don't do the plain old stuff that guilds do, and follow the rules.

Here is the interview with my friend, who was in a guild and quited:
Question: Why don't you have a guild, or in a guild?
Answer: I have been in a guild council and I understand it requires the guild to hold interesting events and contests as a basic rule to keep their guild members involved and participate. That's what guilds are for, fun and interaction between Neopians with the same interest.
I have quited the guild because I cannot afford the time to participate guild events anymore, let alone create and support them as a guild council member. I don't see why I should be in a guild when I don't have the time to interact with guild members and also participate in the events held in the guild thus I don't join a guild.

Question: Why didn't you join a different guild? Because of the same reason?
Answer: No matter which guild, the reason's and outcome is the same. I just don't have time to be involved in guild events. What for if I join one and I don't do anything?
Question: But how is it that you don't have time? You seem to login for a few hours, and your pages don't need much update. Because of the time zones?
Answer: I login to restock and play games. Maybe because of the time zones too.
What we learn from this interview:
1. The guild council has to think about new events for the members.
2. Guilds are for fun and to talk to other people.
3. Some people don't have the time to think of events, or participate in events. That's why some people quit their guild.
4. There are chances that your guild will have people who are not active in it (two thirds in my guild don't do anything in it), so I suggest you tell those people to be more active, or you will delete them from the guild. People who are not active in the guild don't help.
Very important!
Remembers that people all over the world play in Neopets, so it might be that people in your guild will be from different countries and areas, which means different time zones. Some members can't be in an event because it's not in a good time where they live. Don't get mad at those people, it's not their fault. Try making events at a time that is comftorble for the guild members, and not just you.
Very important!
If you had a fight with someone you deleted from the guild, or blocked, don't involve the guild members with it. Your fights with someone are not the member's business. If the person you have a fight with is annoying you, block him.
That's it! Hope you have a great guild!
