How to Tell if your Site is Going Anywhere
So, you have opened a site and added a bunch of content. But do you really know if it is going anywhere? Do you really understand what must be happening to really tell? Well, here is sort of a checklist that will help you figure out what happens in a successful site that is growing.
You get comments in your chatbox. You should be getting good comments in your chatbox or cutenews everyday that say that you are improving and stuff like that.
You tend to get more visitors at your site when you update with new graphics or guides. This means that more people come to check out what is going on, and what is being added.
You get staff applications. If you have staff on your site, you should be getting some applications every once in a while. If not, maybe you need to adjust your rules and stuff so that people will be able to apply.
People ask for more graphics.Do visitors crave your graphics? If they do, they will most likely ask for more, which tells you that you are improving.
You are NOT getting 2 hits a day when you don't add graphics. This means that when you add graphics, you get a lot of hits. But when you don't, you don't just get less than 5. This means people enjoy looking at all of your graphics, not just the new ones.
You take suggestions people give you. When people sometimes stay things about what you need to do to improve, you go for it. Because if you do, then that means you are improving!
You get accepted by most affiliates. This definitely means that you are getting a lot better and things are going good for the site. The more affiliates, the better! (But don't get too many affiliates, because that is sorta bad too.)
So that is your checklist for your site. If you have more than 4 of them checked off, then you are on your way! - Sasha
