Money

By Megan This guide, as you can tell, is going to be about money. I will tell you how to manage money, how to get money, and how to save money. This is a little ironic because, I don’t have any money right now. But that’s a little lie because I do have ten dollars from Christmas!

Getting Money

For kids our age, getting money isn’t that easy. We can’t get jobs because of the child labor law, we can’t get money from trees, and we don’t like doing chores which get us allowance, which means money. So we could just stop being lazy (that’s very hard for me) and do our chores (which I hate) or we could do something for the neighbors, like offer to baby sit their kids, or mow their lawns. If you decide to do the easy thing and do your chores, then good for you! All you have to do (for me anyways) is empty the dishwasher, clean your room, clean the bathroom, pick up you closet, clean under your bed, and pick up the front room, and sometimes clean the kitchen. Wow I do a lot! I should get a raise in my allowance!! But if you choose the other way, I feel bad for you, unless you get paid really well, in which case, I am SO jealous!!

Saving Up Money

If you want to have some money for later on, you should get a piggy bank, or open up a savings account in your parents bank. What’s a savings account you ask? A savings account is this thing in the bank where you open one for free, and to save money for later on, you bring money to the bank and ask to put it in your account. It’ll come in handy later. Say your at the computer store and you see a computer that is nice, reasonably priced, and you have the amount of money in your savings account. Now is the time where you should thank your parents for nagging you to open an account. You should ask your parents to drive you to the bank to get your money out for that computer! Run, run, run go get that new computer of yours!!! Or you could keep the money you got in a good old fashioned piggy bank, that way, when the ice cream man comes, you can smash your pig and get the money out. Or you could keep the money there until you see something you want, run home, smash the darn pig like you knew you wanted to all your life, and get your money. I would pick the first one though.

Managing Your Money

The title of this paragraph is a little confusing, it even confused me! What it means though is that this part shows you how to spend your money. This section might be a little short because of the obvious answer. You just get your money, go to the store that the thing you want is at, and take out your money, and buy it. Problem solved right? Wrong. Money isn’t some green piece of paper with some dead guys face on it. (Well actually it is) Money can be taken out of your hands in an instant. The clerk could be some guy holding the real clerk hostage (that’s not very likely though) but I wouldn’t count on it. It really is as simple as I said it was in the first sentence, at least I hope it is. Wait I forgot one important thing!! If you go shopping, make sure you’re with someone else that also has cash on them. If you buy something, check the tax price, and if you don’t have enough money, politely ask the person with you for some extra cash, but ALWAYS pay them back, it is really mean and rude to the person with you to not be paid back.

Conclusion

In this guide I told you how to save money, how to get money, and how to spend money. I really hope this guide helped you learn the basics of money management, and have fun with your money!!
