How to do a Squares Effect in PSP

Well, I don't know how to explain this effect, but I can show it to you:

Understood? Now, let's start!
Note!
This tutorial is for Paint Shop Pro. I use PSP9, so I'm not sure if this will work in old versions of PSP or any other graphics programs. You may try if you want.

Now, let's start!
First, find an image you want to use. Copy the image, and paste it on PSP. (Ctrl+V) First, you click on: Effects-Texture Effects-Blinds.

Then, a popup window will show up, requesting you to promote the image to 16 million colors, click ok.
Now, you pick the color black, make the width 2, and I recommend for the opacity somewhere between 10-30. Don't click on horizontal or light from left/top.
Done? Good! Now, you click on Background with the right button in the mouse, in the layers section, and click on duplicate.

After you duplicate, click again on the blinds. This time, click on the horizontal. And the opacity can be whatever you want.
Now, click on Layers-Properties.

Change the opacity to 10-30. Now click on ok.
Now, merge the copy of the background with the background itself. Right click on the background in the layers section, then click on Merge-Merge All.
Now duplicate the background again. Click on Adjust-Blur-Gaussian Blur.

Change it to 10.00.
Click on Layers-Properties again. Now lower the opacity to however you want. I would recommend 10-40. Now click ok. Now merge again all layers.
And that's it! Email me (yael@lime-pie.zzn.com) if it doesn't works for you, or if you have suggestions to this tutorial or anything.
